Oliveira do Hospital


The primitive name of this village was Ulvária. From Ulvária ir derived into Ulveira, by analogy and distortion, it was called Oliviera. Hospital come from the existence of the commended order of the Hospitalários de S. João de Jerusalém, also known as Order of Malta. When D.
